Richard retired in 2009 following a 30 year career teaching art at Altoona High School in West Central Wisconsin. Teaching was immensely gratifying, but like a plumber with plugged pipes, or the roofer with a leaky roof, the last thing on his mind following an artful day in the classroom, was more art, so he became an artist in his mind. Now things have changed, and he has time and energy to act out his creative desires. Richard works in a studio at “Banbury Place”, in downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He is in a good place, with a life that is well balanced between work and play. He has a wonderful family, great friends, a positive outlook on life, and is enjoying the fruits of creativity once again .
